Holiday grill

It’s a good thing the weather channel is completely unreliable. They were threatening us with rain for Sunday and it obviously turned out to be a great day, but not until after we decided to postpone our grilling. Good thing it was the Memorial day holiday so Monday was a good option. The weather for that matter turned out to be even better – a cool, sunny day. So here’s our first grill of this year.

夏天到了剪頭髮啦

想剪頭髮想一個多月了, 終於找了個日本設計師
瞞著mike跑去剪頭髮
設計師看到我很長的頭髮整個比我還不捨
問了幾百次的are you sure之後終於動刀
設計師看到我的yoga mat還很貼心的說這樣的長度不會太短, 我做yoga剛好還可以紮起來
呵呵, 剪起來還算滿意

天氣終於稍微好一些, 可以穿summer dress到公園走走啦

從1905年開始賣pizza, 紐約式pizza誕生地, 在官方資料上更是first pizzeria in America
雖然說很多第一個通常不會是最好的
這家位於SOHO的pizzeria倒一直都很有水準在

越來越愛紐約式薄皮有點焦的pizza, 麵皮有嚼勁, 更愛mozzarella的味道

白乳酪幕司布朗尼蛋糕 Fromage Blanc Mousse Brownie Cake

This cake was made for Vera.
I made a fromage blanc mousse cake before and really liked the lightness of it. So I decided to experiment a little bit.
I used Pierre Hermé’s recipe to make the brownie as the bottom. Then it’s the fromage blanc mousse. On top of that is the raspberry gelée. People loved the cake (more than my dishes I think).

Dinner for Vera

Vera是mike在以色列的阿姨, 最近和她老公一起來美國玩
邀請他們來家裡吃飯, 想說煮偏中式的菜宴客
呼, 生平第一次煮中菜請客, 時間拿捏不準又技術很遜
明明有sous chef mike幫我, 可是還是讓客人們等了一個小時半 >”< 真不懂我媽以前是怎麼那麼厲害, 輕輕鬆鬆一大桌菜就出現
暗自決定再也不煮中菜請人了, 還是西式比較輕鬆, 一大塊肉再一些蔬菜澱粉就把大家都打發
