New Years’ Eve Dinner

I can’t believe that it’s our third New Year! Cheers to that and to many many more in the future!
I made a roasted duck for dinner from Alain Ducasse’s Ducasse Flavors of France
The duck’s skin was surprisingly crispy. The only thing is that it took too much work getting the meat out while we were eating. Anyway, the orange sauce (duh!) was super yummy.
Side dishes were beet salad, Bibb salad and potatoes (roasted with the duck)

chinatown vs freshdirect

We like pomelo a lot and get some on a regular basis. The smaller fruit is from FreshDirect, the bigger one we picked up from a random fruit cart on Canal.

While both the fruit tasted about the same, the larger one was more fun to peel and consume.

Mike一直吵著要喝, 還買了lentil回來
這幾天有點冷, 找了一些食譜看了一下發現其實還蠻簡單的

芝麻鍋餅

餅類的東西我都很喜歡
家裡沒有什麼菜, 剛好還有之前朋友來家吃飯剩下的烤豬肉
就來做個大餅捲豬肉, 順便做兩張芝麻鍋餅當甜點

其實很簡單, 就是找個蔥油餅食譜
只不過不加蔥和鹽, 加拌好的芝麻加糖粉
有時想換換口味, 加綠豆沙就變我家附近招牌餅, 加紅豆沙就變豆沙鍋餅
簡單方便, 很香很好吃

朋友來家裡吃飯, 烤了一大塊快6磅的豬肩膀
很柔軟, 不過美國豬, 我還是不愛, 如果是台灣豬, 應該會更美味吧
