蘋果哈拉麵包 Harvest Apple Challah
Challah是一種猶太麵包
平常最常看到的是辮子模樣
鬆鬆軟軟甜甜的還蠻好吃的
最近猶太人過新年
按例, 除了要吃蘋果沾蜂蜜以外
做成圓的Challah麵包也是必需品
今年也是到Riverdale一起吃飯
在King Arthur網站上看到Harvest Apple Challah食譜感覺很好吃
就自告奮勇的烤了一個帶去
整個大受好評, 還被公婆稱讚說是他們吃過最好吃的Challah~ (臉紅)

Burned salmon surprise
Last year we spent some time looking for a non-stick pan that was also non-teflon. We eventually settled on Green Pan but that’s been a mixed experience.

It seemed unfortunate that the fish stuck to the pan during cooking but it turned out that the little pieces that separated from the mass, caramelized and made for a delightful garnish.

Thomas Keller烤雞又出現
小屁點菜說要烤雞
所以做了去年Chloe來時做的很費工不過很美味的烤雞
皮脆肉嫩美味到極點

Doughnut Plant真是好地方
自從聽說Doughnut Plant有超美味甜甜圈
就一直嘗試想要去, 不過一直都沒成功, 哈哈
終於小屁堅持之下
來去了位於下東區的Doughnut Plant
一進去就先被各種不同的甜甜圈吸引到不行
抗拒了許久, 最後”只”買下了7個
拿了兩個給小麥, 我們兩個人沿路邊走邊磕掉了5個

藍莓馬司卡朋蛋糕 Pierre Hermé’s Mascarpone and Blueberry Cake
This one was a collaboration between myself, Yu-Ting and Yufei. Yu-Ting leafed through a recipe book (good luck getting a copy) and selected three candidates. From those three I selected one. Yufei did the baking.

提供平價法國料理給顧客, 順便給學生練習的地方
真是的win-win situation
晚上8:00以後提供五道菜的服務
小屁快要回去了, 就帶她來吃吃平價法國料理

胡蘿蔔冷湯, 底部有干貝, 上面是甜薯炸成的crackers, 味道還不錯

假日沒了上班族的中城感覺很冷清
連餐廳裡也沒人, 我們噹了維持好一段時間的第一桌客人

Nougatine
Nougatine是Jean-Georges Vongerichten位於Trump Hotel, 緊鄰Jean-Georges餐廳的casual版餐廳 (好繞口)
也是一個每次有朋友家人來就會去一下的餐廳
這裡最划算的是星期一到六中午的Prix fixe套餐
appetizer + entree + dessert = 24.07
在法國餐廳裡點個便宜主菜也要這個價錢
在用餐地方明亮又靠近central park
真的很適合帶人來
他們的菜單也是時常改變的
每次的menu上一道都有兩種選擇
我們兩個人, 就一種各來一個
Appetizers
Romaine Heart, Pickled Plums, Pistachio and Red Wine Vinaigrette

Curry that does not need changing
This particular recipe for all intents and purposes should be left alone. It’s tasty and doesn’t need anything additions. Yufei made this green curry with:
- bamboo shoots
- red bell peppers
- green cow horn peppers
- halved grape tomatoes
- Japanese eggplant
- canned (unfortunately) straw mushrooms
- onion
- chicken
- fresh basil (home-grown)
That above is a perfect plate, spicy, full of vegetables, possibly even healthy (or at least not bad for you). We had a lot of liquid left over which makes a great sauce for rice.
